Congress leader and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is likely to make her maiden speech in the Lok Sabha during the debate on 75 years of adopting the Constitution of India, scheduled to take place on Friday (December 13) and Saturday (December 14).
Sources said Ms. Vadra will be the first speaker from the Opposition benches on Friday. Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will be one of the key speakers but it is not clear when he would make his intervention.
Parliament Winter Session Day 14
The parliamentary strategy group and the floor managers of the Congress met on Thursday (December 12) evening to discuss the speakers and the points to be raised.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to reply to the debate on Saturday. Senior leaders of the of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) would speak during the two-day debate, which was sought by the Opposition to mark 75 years of adopting the Constitution.
Both the Congress and the BJP have issued three-line whips to all their members to be present in the House on Friday and Saturday.
