A first-year vocational degree student, of Savitribai Phule Pune University, was intercepted by at least six men, who accused him of “love jihad“, assaulted and threatened him, and asked him to quit studies. A case has been registered against the unknown assailants under IPC sections 323, 143, 147, 504 and 506, police said.
