Setting new standards in the dance universe, 19-year-old Taranjot Singh from Ludhiana, Punjab, made his mark during the auditions. Entering as the second generation participant, he distinguished himself as the only Sikh performer, defying stereotypes by presenting his talent in classical dance on the song ‘Tunak Tunak’. After witnessing his performance, Madhuri Dixit Nene expressed her astonishment, saying, “We are surprised by this performance; we were not at all expecting this. Jaise aap Punjabi pehnave me hain, hume laga aap kuch Bhangra karenge, lekin aapne toh ghungroo pehen ke kya talent dikhaya hai.” Taranjot surprised both the judges with his mesmerizing performance and the show’s host, Bharti Singh, appreciated Taranjot for his outstanding performance and strong determination. Taranjot, going against community norms to pursue his passion, credits his parents for their support and acknowledges their encouragement, which played a pivotal role in bringing him to the ‘Dance Deewane’ stage.
The other audition that stunned the judges was a father-daughter duo Mukesh and Sargam Badal from Pinjore, Chandigarh. The duo set the stage on fire with their performance on the song ‘Aapke Aa Jane Se’. Even the judges could not resist joining them on the dance floor. Madhuri, who was wowed by their performance said, “I have never seen a dad and daughter performing together; it was really exciting. Fabulous! Kya synchronization tha bahot hi kamaal ka. I really liked how you kept it all in Bollywood; it was like heaven. Aap bahot lucky hai aapko itni honhaar beti mili hai ye jodi humare show me amar rahegi.”
