Margao:Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa filed a complaint at the Cuncolim police station against unidentified persons for allegedly circulating a doctored audio clip on social media that he claims is damaging his reputation.
The complaint stated that unidentified individuals were sharing an audio recording featuring a conversation between two people, where one person can be heard using abusive and threatening language.The clip is being circulated alongside D’Costa’s photograph, suggesting that he is the person making the offensive statements, the complaint stated.
D’Costa denied any involvement, stating that the voice in the recording is not his and appears to be a cloned version created with “ulterior motives” to defame him and tarnish his public image.
