“Earlier people thought that nothing would happen to criminals… But I said that ‘we will make the life of criminals miserable’. We speak less and give more results,” Adityanath said
In a warning to people posing a threat to the law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not only brought Ram to the state but will also ensure “Ram Naam Satya” (chant used at funerals) for those who threaten society and warned that “we will make the life of criminals miserable”.
The Chief Minister made the remarks while addressing a poll rally for BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate Satish Kumar Gautam in UP’s Aligarh, where polling will be held in the second phase on April 26.
“Earlier, no one ever thought that daughters and traders could venture out at night without worry. We ensure ‘Ram Naam Satya‘ (last rites done) for the danger posed to the safety of daughters and businessmen. We live our lives chanting Lord Ram’s name. Without Ram, nothing is possible. But when someone poses a threat to the security of society, ‘Ram Naam Satya‘ is also certain,” Adityanath said.
The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister further emphasized the importance of voting for continued progress and development.
“What was a dream 10 years ago is now becoming a reality, and it’s happening because of the value of your vote. A wrong vote would have led the country into the depths of corruption. There was anarchy, curfews, and lawlessness earlier. Our daughters, our youth were under threat,” Adityanath said.
“Earlier people thought that nothing would happen to criminals… But I said that ‘we will make the life of criminals miserable’. We speak less and give more results,” he added.
Expressing confidence in the outcome of the upcoming elections, the UP CM stated that people have already decided in favour of a third term for the Modi government.
“For the first time, while the election process is underway, people are already confident about the outcome. They have already decided that it will be the Modi government for the third time (Tisri baar Modi Sarkar)… If PM Narendra Modi secures a third term, India is poised to become the world’s third-largest economy within the initial three years,” Adityanath said.
BJP’s Stand Against Crime
The Uttar Pradesh CM’s stance on crime echoed the sentiments of other senior BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi, while addressing a rally in Rajasthan’s Churu on Friday, stressed his government’s stance on terrorism and said that things have changed now as “the enemy knows that this is New India, which enters into enemy territories to give a befitting reply to them (Yeh Naya Bharat hai jo ghar mein ghus ke marta hai).”
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh reiterated PM Modi’s sentiments during an exclusive conversation with Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi on Friday and said the BJP government will give a befitting reply to any terrorist who tries to disturb peace in India.
“India wants to maintain cordial relations with its neighbour. Look at our history. We have never attacked any country or even occupied an inch of the territory of any other country. This is India’s character.” However, “if someone tries intimidating India by fomenting terror on our soil, they will not be spared”, he added.
Uttar Pradesh, which sends the maximum number of MPs, 80, to Parliament, will vote in all seven phases: April 19, April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 23 and June 1. The counting of votes for all 543 Lok Sabha seats across the country will be held on June 4.
