NEW DELHI: Taunted by opposition parties over Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, BJP has launched a massive campaign for the consecration ceremony scheduled for January 22 with PM Modi leading from the front and other saffron organisations complementing his efforts.
Reference of the temple construction and the consecration ceremony has been invariably used by the PM in his public speeches and has also highlighted how people are excited about the “historic” occasion.
The PM, while unveiling various projects in Ayodhya, had exhorted Ram devotees to celebrate Diwali on January 22 and light lamps in their homes. On Wednesday, he shared a song dedicated to Lord Ram sung by Bollywood singer Swati Mishra.
Soon, Mishra’s video went viral on social media platforms and the singer expressed gratitude to the PM for his post.
While several singers and composers have dedicated songs to Lord Ram in the past few weeks, BJP strategists are also working on telling people how decades of rigorous fight had fructified and the installation of Ram Lalla’s idol was just a few days away.
BJP sources said there would be a country-wide campaign from January 25 to facilitate people’s visit to Ayodhya. Sources said there will be a 60-day drive for which 35 trains to Ayodhya will be operational and BJP cadres will provide them logistical support. Sources said the cost of travel will be borne by individuals.
During recent rallies in state polls, home minister Amit Shah and other leaders had promised to ensure Ram Lalla darshan to people.
Rejecting the opposition’s allegations that BJP was politicising the religious ceremony, Union minister Pralhad Joshi said, “Where is the politics? The trust (Ayodhya Ram temple trust) has sent out invitations to prominent leaders of all political parties. It is not our fault that the Ram temple is being built in BJP’s tenure.”
