Actor Randeep Hooda, who is currently rocking the headlines for the recently released ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar‘, opens up about going through a rough patch professionally and how that changed him as an actor.
In an interview with Humans of Bombay, Randeep mentioned going through movies like ‘Battle of Saragarhi‘ where he had grown a full Sikh beard for 3 years and prepared extensively for it, and yet the movie didn’t get completed. He described that period as very challenging and expressed feeling deeply depressed.
Eloborating further, the ‘Sultan’ actor added that he liked the experience of having his life abruptly cut in half, almost causing him to leave the movie ‘Extraction‘ for it. He recalled visiting the Golden Temple and making a pledge not to cut his hair until the completion of the film “Battle of Saragarhi,” which he eventually did when the movie didn’t come to fruition.
The actor shared that this period was a struggle as he had no work for three years, gained weight, and felt lost. However, he eventually moved past it, although his parents were deeply concerned. He then proceeded to work on ‘Extraction’ but found himself grappling with the lingering effects of that difficult time.
