NEW DLEHI: Senior BJP leaders Friday hailed govt’s decision to confer Bharat Ratna on PV Narasimha Rao, Chaudhary Charan Singh as well as MS Swaminathan with home minister Amit Shah saying it was a testament to the nation’s profound sense of gratitude towards the great men.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh said Rao served the country in difficult times and his statesmanship and contributions were exemplary.
BJP chief J P Nadda said, “I join our fellow countrymen in celebrating the inspiring leadership and legacy of P V Narasimha Rao Garu.” He also congratulated govt for honouring Singh and Swaminathan.
