Minister for Law S. Regupathy underwent an angioplasty at a private hospital here on Saturday.
According to sources, the Minister felt some chest discomfort shortly before he was about to board a Chennai-bound flight from Tiruchi. He was immediately rushed to the Kauvery Medical Centre (KMC) at Cantonment. A team of cardiologists screened him and after tests it was found that the Minister had a block in the coronary artery. Following this, angioplasty was done.
Hospital sources added that Mr. Regupathy was recovering well. He was stable and would be discharged in a couple of days.
