NEW DELHI: BJP leader Parvesh Verma, a potential Delhi chief ministerial candidate, emphasized on Sunday that his party would prioritize the development of the Yamuna riverfront.
During a media interaction following his visit to pay respects to his late father and former chief minister Sahib Singh Verma in Mundka village, he criticised the previous administration’s negligence towards Delhi’s rural regions, highlighting the poor state of roads in these areas.
“Revamping the Yamuna riverfront will be one of our main priorities,” Verma said.
He expressed his dedication to fulfilling and completing all the incomplete tasks and initiatives that his father had begun.
Expressing gratitude for the support received by the BJP in Delhi, he said, “With the blessings of the people of Delhi and the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will work towards building a beautiful Delhi that takes care of all sections of society”.
Verma’s political influence surged significantly after his remarkable win against AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi constituency with a margin of 4,089 votes. This victory has established him as a strong contender for the leadership position in the forthcoming BJP administration.
