Barelvi cleric and All India Muslim Jamaat president, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, has taken issue with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan sporting a Ram Janmabhoomi edition watch. Calling it “haram” (forbidden in Islam), he made a strong statement against the actor’s choice, as per a PTI report.
Religious Concerns Over the Watch
On Friday, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi addressed queries about Salman Khan’s choice of wearing a Ram Janmabhoomi edition watch. He stated that he had received multiple inquiries regarding its permissibility under Islamic law.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi stated that he was asked about the Islamic ruling on Salman Khan wearing a Ram Janmabhoomi edition watch. He explained that since the watch was designed to promote the Ram Mandir, it is considered “haram” and impermissible for a Muslim to wear.
Advice to Salman Khan
Razvi further stated that Salman Khan, being a well-known Indian personality with a significant Muslim following, should avoid actions that go against Islamic principles.
Razvi emphasized that Salman Khan, as a renowned Indian celebrity with millions of fans, is also a Muslim and should be mindful of his actions.

“In such a situation, doing un-Islamic activities is against Shariat. He should avoid such activities and repent for the un-Islamic activities he has done,” the Maulana added.

Priced at ₹34 lakh, the exclusive timepiece holds sentimental value for the actor, as he revealed in an interaction with Hindustan Times that it was a gift from his mother, Salma Khan.
