SC collegium proposes Goan for elevation as HC judge | Goa News

Panaji: The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the name of Goan advocate Ashwin Bhobe, among others, for appointment as judges of the Bombay high court.
According to the collegium, all the consultee-judges unanimously gave a positive opinion on the suitability of Bhobe for appointment as a high court judge. He has been in the legal profession for over 26 years.The names were first recommended by HC chief justice in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues. Supreme Court said that it has perused the views of the chief ministers and the governors of Maharashtra and Goa on this proposal.
The four other names recommended by the SC collegium for appointment as Bombay HC judges are Nivedita Mehta, Prafulla Khubalkar, Rohit Joshi and Advait Sethna.
