Abhishek Bachchan gets a box-tick for his performance in Shoojit Sircar’s I Want To Talk from none other than Shabana Azmi, no less.
Shabana Azmi raves about Abhishek Bachchan in I Want To Talk: “He has lived every second of Arjun Sen’s close encounters with death”
Speaking from Singapore, where she is attending a global summit, Shabana said she was deeply moved by the film and Abhishek’s performance. “It’s not easy to do what he has done. He has lived every second of Arjun Sen’s (the real person whose book inspired the film) close encounters with death,” she said.
So, is this a new beginning for Abhishek? “He has definitely come of age as an actor,” she said. “Recently, I worked with him in Balki’s Ghoomer and I noticed how involved and evolved he was in playing his character.”
Speaking about the film, Abhishek said, “My director Shoojit and I have redefined the feelgood space. Shoojit has so far worked with my dad in one of their finest films Piku. It was my turn now. I had a ball shooting with Shoojit. I hope he enjoyed himself as much as I did. Although, let me tell you, there was nothing enjoyable about playing Arjun Sen. I have to admit it left me drained. Is this my best performance? That is for you to decide. I have given my best to the film.”
