Jharkhand HC on Wednesday stayed the execution of a non-bailable arrest warrant against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accused in a defamation case pending in the MP/MLA court in Chaibasa, reports Chandrajit Mukherjee.
Rahul had moved the HC challenging the warrant issued on Feb 27 by the special Chaibasa court for his appearance in the case, pertaining to alleged defamatory remarks he had made against Union home minister Amit Shah during a 2019 rally in Chaibasa before Lok Sabha polls. Rahul had also allegedly referred to Shah as a ‘murderer’ in one of his speeches.
