Shah Rukh Khan is a massive star both in India and globally, known for his numerous hit films, with his most recent release being Dunki in 2023. However, his journey to success was not without challenges; he lost his parents at a young age. Recently, he opened up about his experiences during a five-year break at the World Government Summit in Dubai.

At the summit, Shah Rukh Khan engaged in a conversation with journalist Richard Quest, discussing not only his career but also his extended break, his current aspirations, and the challenges he encountered after losing his parents.
Reflecting on his early life, Shah Rukh Khan recounted how he became an orphan at a young age and had to navigate life with resilience. He stated, “When I was young, I lost my parents very early. I was a young orphan who had to work his way through it.”
Discussing his five-year break, Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he faced significant setbacks due to some movie flops. During this time, he learned to make what he believes is the best pizza in the world. He shared that he shifted from being a passive listener to wanting to be the storyteller himself. “I made myself a little kitchen, and I started learning how to make pizzas. I learned perseverance. Because to make the perfect round pizza, you have to first make a million square ones,” he stated.
When asked about his dreams, Shah Rukh mentioned that initially, he just aimed to survive in the film industry and achieve success with his projects. However, his perspective has evolved. Now, he aspires to integrate technology into Indian cinema and dreams of creating a film that resonates globally, breaking barriers without facing questions about crossing over. He stated, “I want to make that film which the whole world likes, and then nobody on a big stage like this asks me, why haven’t you crossed over? That film should cross me over. That’s my dream.”
In 2023, Shah Rukh Khan had an exceptional year with three consecutive hits: Pathaan, Jawan, and Dunki. He began shooting his next project in March-April 2024, marking his highly anticipated return to the big screen.
