Mahadevan, who is known for his soul-stirring renditions of bhajans and devotional songs, was especially excited to perform the song Chalo Kumbh Chalein, the anthem of the previous Kumbh Mela, written by lyricist Prasoon Joshi and others. Mahadevan’s repertoire also included popular renditions of bhajans, all of which enthralled the large crowd gathered at the Ganga Pandal set up at the Kumbh Mela area.
