ROHTAK: Haryana model Sheetal Chaudhary, popularly known as Simmi, was allegedly murdered by her boyfriend, who stabbed her eight times in the chest, neck, and arms.Her body was found on Sunday morning in a canal in Sonipat, with identification confirmed through tattoos on her hand and chest.
Sheetals family claimed that she had left her home in Panipat two days ago for an album shoot in a nearby village.Her sister, Neha, revealed that on the evening of June 14, Sheetal made a distress video call, saying that her boyfriend Sunil was assaulting her and trying to forcibly take her with him. The call abruptly ended, and that was the last communication from her.

The Panipat police arrested Sunil from a local hospital. His car was found submerged in the Delhi Parallel Canal late Saturday night.Bystanders rescued him from the vehicle, but Sheetal was not inside. During the initial interrogation, Sunil confessed to the murder, admitting that he stabbed her during an altercation and later dumped her body into the canal. He then tried to stage an accident by plunging his car into the canal to cover his tracks.SP Bhupender Singh confirmed that a murder case has been registered against Sunil. Police sources suggest Sunil suspected Sheetal was talking to someone else and grew increasingly possessive. Their relationship had been strained, and she was distancing herself from him, which reportedly led to the fatal assault inside the car.CCTV footage has emerged showing Sheetal and Sunil carrying luggage and getting into a car at 10.05pm. Neha confirmed that Sheetal video-called her at around 11.30pm.By 1.30pm, the next day, Sunil’s car was found in the canal, suggesting the murder occurred within this time window.Investigations further revealed that Sheetal had previously filed multiple complaints against Sunil, though the outcomes of those reports remain unclear.Sheetal was a rising face in music videos and had been staying with her sister. On June 14, she had left for a shoot in Ahar village and never returned. Due to the absence of forensic experts in Sonipat, her body was sent to Khanpur for post-mortem examination. After the procedure, her remains were handed over to her family.
