Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray met Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday (December 17, 2024) at the latter’s chamber in Vidhan Bhavan, Nagpur.
Mr. Thackeray was accompanied by Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders Aaditya Thackeray, Anil Parab, and Varun Sardesai. The meeting took place during the ongoing winter session of the Maharashtra legislature.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Thackeray, who is a member of the State legislative council, arrived in Nagpur to participate in the session. He is also expected to attend a Shiv Sena (UBT) legislature party meeting later in the evening.
This meeting comes amid the strained political ties between the BJP and the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena, which split after the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections over differences regarding the Chief Minister’s post.
