As expected, there was a good hold in collections for Sikandar on Tuesday as post Eid festivities continued. The film did have first couple of days managing to go past the Rs. 30 crores mark and while one expected much higher numbers due to national holidays on Sunday and Monday, all eyes were on how good the good will turn out to be on Tuesday.

Sikandar Box Office: Salman Khan starrer manages good hold on Tuesday

As it has happened with so many biggies in the past, when a film fails big time then the effects start coming in from second or third day itself. Thankfully, that hasn’t happened for the Salman Kham starrer as the single screen audiences and interiors of the country are seeing consistent collections coming on the third day as well.

This was seen on Tuesday when Rs. 23.01 crores* were accumulated, and from comparative standpoint this is a good hold. The film could easily have dropped by more than 50% and got into that Rs. 15-16 crores zone but that wasn’t the case. Yes, Bassi Eid in some parts of the country meant that the hold was better than it happens on a usual working day. Still, to not just cross Rs. 20 crores mark but go a bit above that goes on to show that there is a segment of audience out there which is patronising the film.

The Sajid Nadiadwala production has now accumulated Rs. 86.43 crores* and while there would be a drop in collections today for sure, one waits to see whether Rs. 14-15 crores still come in. If that turns out to be the case, then the film will go past the Rs. 100 crores mark today itself. Else that will happen tomorrow for sure, post which it would be the second weekend hold that will decide the eventual lifetime for the AR Murugadoss directed film.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited

Note: All collections as per various box office sources
