BENGALURU: A twist straight out of a thriller, Sarjapur resident Tanvi got more than she bargained for when she opened her Amazon package to find a live spectacled cobra, one of India’s most venomous snakes, stuck to the packaging tape of her Xbox controller order.
Tanvi, who initially thought she was seeing things, was horrified to discover the snake firmly attached to the tape, unable to move but very much alive.Thankfully, the sticky situation prevented the cobra from causing harm.
The moment Tanvi (@Tanvxo) posted her unnerving experience on social media, the story went viral. Netizens were quick to mock Amazon for what seemed like a literal interpretation of their name, while others raised serious concerns about the company’s packaging protocols.
Aditya Kumar Trivedi, an X user with the handle @adityasvlogs, humorously commented, “If you order from Amazon, sometimes they send products from their forests as well. Anyway, I have heard that the Amazon forest is very large.”
Yatharth (@CastePatroller) added to the hilarity, tweeting, “Looks like Amazon took their name a bit too literally this time. Instead of a controller, you got a whole wildlife adventure!”
Meanwhile, Rahul Dev (@meetrahuldev) drew a comical parallel with a tweet, “When you receive your X in the box”, cleverly linking the Xbox to the unexpected reptilian guest.
Adding to the fun, user Aryabhata speculated that Tanvi might have opted for the “Cobra Kai” game to go with her new controller.
The incident has sparked a flurry of memes and jokes but also highlighted the potential risks associated with packaging and delivery processes. Amazon has yet to respond to the uproar.
