Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala’s wedding pictures, with the right blend of style and tradition, continue to break the internet. The couple got married on December 4 at the famous Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. And now, sources close to the couple have revealed the significance of Sohita’s bridal mehendi design, as per a Pinkvilla report. While her regal Kanjeevaram wedding saree became the talk of the town, her mehendi design stole the show. It was inspired by the rich motifs found in the Madurai Temple, according to the source.

The entire wedding was a tribute to Telugu culture, and her bridal mehendi followed suit. The source revealed that the designs on Sobhita’s palms and feet were inspired by Madurai Meenakshi Amman and Sundareswara. “The mehendi design created for Sobhita was significantly inspired by the Madurai Temple. The motifs were drawn from Madurai Meenakshi Amman and Sundareswara, particularly the Utsava Murthi. The pattern on the back of the hand was inspired by the beautifully adorned Padhakkam worn by Goddess Meenakshi,” they disclosed.

While that was the back of her palm, the design on the inside of her palm was the outer pattern of Sundareswara’s ring, depicting the essence of the ‘circle of light.’ These intricate designs together represent masculine and feminine energies, which stand for an eternal bond.

“The design on the inner palm captured the outer pattern of Sundareswara’s ring, also known as the Prabha Mandala, symbolising the circle of light. Together, these elements represented the divine union of masculine and feminine energies-Lord Shiva and Shakti-signifying their eternal bond through the travails of life and their reunion in every yuga,” the source further explained.
