Minister of State for Railways V. Somanna reviewing various projects under implementation in Mysuru Railway Division, at a review meeting in Mysuru on Sunday.

The railway officials were instructed to adhere to project timelines and quality standards in implementing the works, at a review meeting chaired by V. Somanna, Minister of State for Railways, here on Sunday.
The Minister reviewed critical railway infrastructure projects under execution in the Mysuru Railway Division of South Western Railway, including the redevelopment of Mysuru Railway Station and the proposed terminal at Naganahalli.
Detailed presentations were made outlining the scope of works, project timelines, and integration with multi-modal transport infrastructure under the PM Gati Shakti initiative.
The redevelopment of Mysuru station incudes construction of five additional platforms, five running lines, four stabling lines, a shunting neck, construction of a new station building, platform shelters, foot over bridge or sky walks, construction of a subway, extension of five bridges, reconstruction of quarters, service amenities, etc., all at a cost of ₹493.03 crore.
In addition, the scope of work at Mysuru yard includes dismantling of staff quarters and service buildings, construction of 364 staff quarters and new service buildings, apart from shifting the Loco Colony.
At Naganahalli, the railway yard will be extended, and land required for the project is 8.29 acres. The Railways has deposited ₹18.92 crore to the State government, and the registration process is under progress, the Minister was informed.
Under the Amrit Bharat, 15 stations under the Mysuru Railway Division were being revamped and remodelled at a cost of ₹347.59 crore. The project was sanctioned during 2023-24 and the target for completion in 2025 is Bantwala, Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Ranebennur, and Subramanya Road.
Mr. Somanna emphasised the need for timely execution, adherence to high-quality standards, and enhanced passenger amenities. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to developing railway infrastructure and enhancing regional connectivity.
Mudit Mittal, Divisional Railway Manager, Vinayak R. Nayak, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Anand Bharati, Chief Project Manager, Gati Shakti, Girish Dharmaraj Kalagonda, Divisional Commercial Manager, and other senior officers were present.
