Sonam Kapoor who has largely been away from the movies after her son Vayu’s birth has opened up on how she’s evolved with time and motherhood also has changed her. The actress got married to Anand Ahuja in 2018 and now they have a son named Vayu Kapoor Ahuja who was born in 2022. The actress is largely known for being a style icon, a fashionista and also for always being quite upfront about her opinions. In a recent interview though, she has admitted that she no longer has opinions on people and was immature earlier.
The actress said in an interview with Vogue, “When I was young, I had too many opinions. With age, you realise it’s better to listen than to speak. I don’t have personal opinions on people anymore, like I did. That wasn’t nice. It was immature.” She added, “I’ve been clear about my beliefs and I don’t give in to leading questions anymore for clickbait headlines. If someone asks me a question, they already know what my stance is. I’ve said everything there is to say.”
Sonam further revealed that one can be very jaded in the industry. “But having a child brings back wonder and idealism. I was one hundred per cent jaded before Vayu’s birth. I want to walk in his shoes—you don’t know what a two-year-old is thinking—just so I can be a better parent.”
The actress also added, “I’ve never gotten Botox. When they say I wear this or that, it’s not just about the clothes. Why can’t I simply be comfortable in my skin?” Sonam is quite clear about her decision of wanting to raise her son Vayu away from the limelight. She confessed how her parents Anil Kapoor and Sunita Kapoor made sure to keep them away from the limelight so that they could evolve more. She added, “It’s a fishbowl that sucks you in, becoming your world. If I hadn’t gone to Arya Vidya Mandir and made normal friends, I wouldn’t be who I am today—someone who loves books, dance, music and art.”
Sonam was last seen in a film called ‘Blind’.
