Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer Hyundai Motor Company will start operations from the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) in Zaheerabad shortly.
The Chief Minister said works on NIMZ Zaheerabad were slowed down during the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) regime. The Congress government had intensified land acquisition and related works besides enhancing compensation for the families affected by the project. He announced that all the 5,612 families that lost their land because of NIMZ will be given houses under Indiramma Indlu scheme.
The Chief Minister was speaking at a public meeting in Zaheerabad on Friday (May 23, 2025) after launching a spree of developmental works with an estimated ₹494 crore.
He directed the officials concerned to take up action plan for sanctioning Indiramma houses to the affected families. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president T. Jayaprakash Reddy, popular as Jagga Reddy, would be given the responsibility of handing over the house site pattas and other responsibilities relating to the affected families. “I think about politics during the election time. I will take everyone together when it comes to development. Necessary funds will be sanctioned to Zaheerabad constituency in this direction,” he said.

He recalled representations seeking adequate funds for the development of Narayankhed constituency and said the government would provide the funds required for the all round development of the constituency. It would take all the steps needed for accelerated development of the erstwhile united Medak district.
Mr. Reddy reiterated his government’s commitment to improve the agriculture sector and said several steps including crop loan waiver were introduced in this direction. The government enhanced the support under Rythu Bharosa — farmers investment support scheme — to ₹12,000 and the facility was being extended to landless farmers cultivating lands.
Free power of up to 200 units was being provided to eligible families and the government was implementing free bus travel to women besides ensuring that LPG cylinder was supplied at a subsidised price of ₹500 each.
The government had prepared an action plan for financial empowerment of women and encouraged self help group (SHG) women to purchase buses so that they could be leased to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) thus earning them additional income. “My government is committed to make women millionaires in five years,” he averred.
He took an indirect jibe at BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for not fulfilling his promise of providing a job to each household and said he (Mr. Rao) made sure his family members secured jobs. The Congress government on its part filled vacant government posts since it took over the reins and left no stone unturned to seek the Central Government’s support for Telangana’s development, he said.
“I am prepared to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi any number of times to seek release of funds due to the State,” he said.
KCR appealed to participate in Assembly proceedings
He appealed to Opposition leader Mr. Rao to participate in the Assembly proceedings and bring the people’s problems to the notice of the government. It was prepared to rectify mistakes, if any, suggested by the main Opposition. “If the Opposition leader feels that he will come to the Assembly when he will be in power, people are prepared to teach a fitting lesson,” he said adding that people’s representatives should be available to the people whether in power or out of it.
He cited his own example claiming that he was available to the people all through and never adopted arrogant attitude even after becoming the Chief Minister. “I will continue to struggle till the State achieves the desired development,” he said. Mr. Revanth Reddy recalled the association of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi with Medak.
