After the success of ‘Merry Christmas’ starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, filmmaker Sriram Raghavan is set to make ‘Ikkis’ – a film based on the life of the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient Arun Khetarpal. The coming-of-age drama features ‘The Archies’ star Agastya Nanda and veteran star Dharmendra in the lead roles.
In a recent interview with Indian Express, Sriram Raghavan revealed that he really connected with the story of ‘Ikkis’. He stated that parts of the story were very emotional, but it also has battle sequences, hence they have tried and done it differently. “It is a war film, and it is a drama. It was a break from the kind of movies I was doing, and I wanted that, so that the next time I am doing a thriller, I feel fresh. That there is no baggage,” he stated.
Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis’ is mounted as a “big production”, and the anticipation around the film is only surging.

Hansal Mehta: One of the first things that I told Jai during ‘City Lights’ was to make the budget of the film
“It is not going to be the Amar Chitra Katha version of that story. It is not like this was his childhood and all that. It is about this young officer, who was martyred two months after his 21st birthday. It’s during this time when a boy becomes a man. Then something happens 30 years later, which is again interesting… It is a bigger production, there will be tank battles, and all those things that happen in a war film. But it is also a human story, it’s a drama, a coming-of-age kind of a thing,” he earlier told PTI.
