Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced in the Cabinet meeting on Tuesday (April 29, 2025) that financial assistance of ₹50 lakhs will be provided to the families of the victims, who were killed in the Pahalgam terrorist attack.
“The state government will pay attention to the education and employment of the children of the families of those killed in the terrorist attack,” said Mr. Fadnavis.
“By this, we are trying to give the message that the State is standing with the victim’s family and supporting them in every way,” he said.
Six natives of Maharashtra — Sanjay Lele, Hemant Joshi, Atul Mone (all Dombivli residents ), Dilip Disle (Panvel), Kaustubh Ganbote and Santosh Jagdale (residents of Pune) — were killed in the Pahalgam terror attack.

Asawari Jagdale, the daughter of one of the victims, Santosh Jagdale, will be given a government job. The State government will pay attention to the education and employment of these families. Asawari Jagdale is a BSc graduate in Computer Science.
Earlier, Nationalist Congress Party (SP) Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule on 27 April requested Mr. Fadnavis to give the civil valour award to the families of all six victims as well as admit one of the family members into the government services based on their educational qualifications. She also took the name of Asawari and called her highly educated.
