Panaji: As tourism season begins, Goa police directed cruise operators at Panaji jetty to stop music strictly by 10pm on Friday. Goa police instructed cruise operators to issue proper tickets to tourists and not harass them.
Deputy superintendent of police (DySP) Sudesh Naik and Panaji police inspector Vijay Kumar Chodankar held a meeting with the representatives of cruise operators.Goa police directed cruise operators to verify their crew and obtain sound permission from competent authorities. “Stop music strictly by 10pm,” Goa police instructed cruise operators.
Cruise operators have been directed to keep all safety equipment on their cruises and to check their condition, ensuring safety measures. “Staff employed for ticketing must be compulsorily enrolled with the tourism department. Pay special attention to differently-abled customers. Ensure that no undue harassment is caused to tourists and issue genuine passes/tickets,” said Goa police.
Goa police held a meeting with representatives of clubs and directed them to follow the Noise Pollution Act and not to play loud music beyond the stipulated time. Goa police instructed clubs to brief their staff to behave properly with tourists, creating a safe and enjoyable environment for them in Goa.
They also directed clubs to enhance CCTV surveillance covering the entire premises.
