Sujoy Ghosh‘s latest release was Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat starrer ‘Jaane Jaan’. The film got good reviews as it released on OTT and fans loved the performances. But Saif Ali Khan was supposed to do the film earlier. Apparently, there were talks of Saif being cast alongside Kangana Ranaut in the movie. Then, there were also reports suggesting that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was meant to do the film.Eventually, it was made with Kareena, Vijay and Jaideep. ‘Jaane Jaan’ is an adaptation of the Japanese novel, ‘The Devotion Of Suspect X’.
During the trailer launch of ‘Jaane Jaan’, Sujoy had revealed, “It’s a long history, we don’t have that kind of time. But, yes, Saif has a history with this film and like a true husband, he’s now put the responsibility on Kareena.” And now, during an interview with News18, when Sujoy was asked about collaborating with Saif, here’s what he had to say!
Sujoy said that if there’s a script, he definitely wants to work with Saif because the director has been pursuing him, ever since his first film ‘Jhankaar Beats’. The film had released in 2003, and starred Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Suri, Rahul Bose, Shayan Munshi, Rinke Khanna and Riya Sen. The songs of the movie, continue to remain popular till date.
Meanwhile, post ‘Jaane Jaan’, Sujoy is reportedly making an action thriller with Suhana Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Without divulging into more details, SRK had revealed that he’s going to start his next film in March or April 2024 and it would be something which is age appropriate for him. There are going to be huge action seqeunces in the film as per reports, but they will be different from what the audience saw SRK doing in ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan’.
