The Super Cup 2025 quarterfinal between Mumbai City FC and Inter Kashi at Kalinga Stadium was interrupted by a bee attack on Sunday.
The scores were level at 0-0 in the 28th minute when the linesman on the far side began swatting away a swarm of bees and moved toward the centre of the pitch.
The referee paused the game for a drinks break as the linesman headed toward the dressing room area for safety.
Play resumed four minutes later but was halted almost immediately as the bees returned. The linesman fell to the ground while team staff rushed to cover him with towels.
Eventually, after the match officials changed from yellow kits to black, the game restarted in the 44th minute, with 14 minutes of added time.
