Hardeep Puri’s reaction came after Arvind Kejriwal called for his arrest and interrogation over settlement of Rohingyas in Delhi.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday lashed out at former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his “arrest” remark and said that the AAP chief was extending “repeated support for Rohingyas” which was akin to playing with national security.
The Minister’s remarks came moments after Kejriwal called for his arrest and interrogation over the issue of settlement of Rohingyas in the city.
“I request them to arrest Hardeep Singh Puri. He has all the data on where he settled Rohingyas and how. He tweeted and gave the information. Hardeep Singh Puri and Amit Shah have all the data on how and where they have settled Rohingyas,” Kejriwal said at a press conference earlier in the day.
Hardeep Puri Hits Back At Kejriwal
Hitting back at Kejriwal, Puri took to X and said that not a single Rohingya has been given an EWS flat by the Centre anywhere in the country and it was the AAP MLA who helped them settle in Delhi and get their voter IDs made.
“Repeating the same lie over and over won’t change the truth; however, it will certainly prove your own falsehood. The truth is, not a single Rohingya has been given an EWS flat anywhere till today. An AAP MLA, with Kejriwal’s support, has settled them in Delhi, providing free rations, water, electricity, and ₹10,000 to each, while getting them voter IDs,” he said.

He further emphasised that it is well known “which party the Rohingyas will vote for”.
“Kejriwal’s repeated support for the Rohingyas is akin to playing with the country’s security. The clarification for the tweet being used to spread this lie was issued within hours by the Ministry of Home Affairs and me on the same day! It’s available in the public domain, yet spreading lies is shameless,” Puri added.
Arvind Kejriwal Vs Hardeep Puri Over Rohingyas
Kejriwal on Sunday had claimed that the BJP has filed application for the deletion of 5,000 votes and the addition of 7,500 votes in his New Delhi Assembly constituency.
“Why there is a need to conduct elections if you are manipulating approximately 12% of total voters in the assembly?” he had asked.
His remarks had drawn a reaction from Puri who said that it was the AAP that helped them settle in the city for the sake of votes and that their names should be eliminated from the voter list.
“This is the (Arvind) Kejriwal and AAP, who were saying that we (BJP) have brought Rohingyas… Do you think that they (Rohingyas) will in any circumstance vote for the BJP? They (AAP ) have helped them settle here for the votes. It would be better for a democracy if their names are cut from the voter list,” Puri had responded yesterday.
