The Election Commission of India announced the schedule for 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Assam on Saturday.
The Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced that the polling for Lok Sabha elections will be held in 7 phases from April 19 to June 1 and counting of votes on 4th June.
The model code of conduct has come into force starting the evening of March 16 and will remain in force even after the polling on April 26 till the entire process of counting is completed on June 4.
Total Lok Sabha seats:
The state consists of 17 Lok Sabha constituencies, with three reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC) and two for Scheduled Tribes (ST). These constituencies are Adilabad, Bhuvanagiri, Chevella, Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Mahabubnagar, Malkajgiri, Medak, Nagarkurnool, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Peddapalle, Secunderabad, Warangal, and Zahirabad.
Telangana is situated in the southern part of India and has a total population of 3,50,03,674. The first national election for Telangana was held in 2019, after it was recognised as a separate state in 2014.

The state is scheduled to go into polls in the fourth phase of the elections, on May 13. Due to the limited number of seats in Telangana, General elections will be held in a single phase.

Main parties
In the 2014 general elections, the BJP secured 4 seats, INC 3, TRS 9, and AIMIM 1. However, in the subsequent 2019 elections, TRS emerged victorious in 11 out of the 17 seats.
The upcoming Lok Sabha Elections will witness a three-way competition among the BRS, NDA, and INDIA alliances, all vying for the top position.
