JAMMU: Suspected terrorists engaged a team of J&K police special operations group (SOG) in a brief gunfight before escaping at Behramgala in Poonch district of Jammu division on Tuesday. This occurred amid heightened security and search operations following four attacks on June 9, 11, and 12 that left nine pilgrims and one CRPF constable dead.
“The firing was retaliated, triggering a brief exchange of bullets.The terrorists fled thereafter, prompting a search in the forests of Behramgala. No fresh exchange of fire has been reported,” an official source said. No official statement has been issued regarding the shootout as of the filing of this report.
