Rakesh Roshan, Rajesh Roshan and Hrithik Roshan, Monika Shergill, Vice President Content, Netflix and Director Shashi Ranjan attended the trailer launch of their documentary series, The Roshans. The three Roshans opened up like never before at this event.
The Roshans trailer launch: Hrithik Roshan reveals what he would tell his grandfather Roshan; also hints that his son is an aspiring musician
Hrithik Roshan began by saying, “When I saw this documentary, I was absolutely amazed. It was directed so beautifully.”
The host asked what Hrithik would have talked to his grandfather, Roshan Lal Nagrath. He said, “I never met my grandfather. I wonder if I somehow magically would get a chance, what would be the conversation that I would have with him. After watching the documentary, I would like to ask him about his childhood and things he went through. I wonder what he would ask me. He may ask me if I am happy (smiles).”
Hrithik Roshan continued, “I often wonder what was the drive I had when I did my first film. What was it and where did it come from? The simplest answer is that it was already there. It was in my cells. It was something that passed on. As they say, intelligence passes on in your cells. That’s what genetic evolution is. You pass on and you get better.”
Hrithik Roshan further said, “When my father said that he wanted to make this documentary, at first, I felt embarrassed. I don’t like attention (smiles)! Then I realized that it’s not about me. This is about history and history is important. It is the history of my ancestors, my parents, my grandfather and my chacha is what gave me my drive. It inspired me so much that I was unstoppable!”
The host again prodded him about what he would talk to his grandfather. At this, he replied, “I’d like to share my son’s compositions with him. As I said, perhaps it’s something in the genes!”
The Roshans premieres on Netflix on January 17.
