“The country will make progress under his (Modi’s) leadership. There is this trust among the people. We hope that this trust thrives,” the RSS leader said

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue Indresh Kumar said on Friday that those who opposed Ram were all out of power, while those who took up Ram’s resolve had formed the government for the third term.

His comments were seen as a U-turn of sorts by some. On Thursday, he had said that the “party which did bhakti of Lord Ram and became arrogant was stopped at 241, however, it became the biggest party”. These remarks were seen as a reference to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and fanned controversy in the backdrop of the election results.

But, on Friday, Kumar said: “Desh ka vatavaran iss samay mein bahut spasht hai. Jinhone Ram ka virodh kiya wo sab satta se baahar hain, jinhone Ram ki bhakti ka sankalp liya aaj wo satta mein hain aur teesri baar ki sarkar Narendra Modi ke netritva mein bann gayi hai. (The atmosphere of the country is very clear at this time. All those who opposed Lord Ram are out of power, those who pledged to worship Ram are in power today and for the third time, the government has been formed under the leadership of Narendra Modi).”

“The country will make progress under his (Modi’s) leadership. There is this trust among the people. We hope that this trust thrives,” he added.

In the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Narendra Modi-led BJP got 240 seats on its own and was bolstered by NDA allies like Janata Dal (United), Telugu Desam Party and Shiv Sena to reach 293 seats. Meanwhile, Opposition alliance – INDIA, bagged 232 seats.

Just a day ago on Thursday, speaking at the ‘Ramrath Ayodhya Yatra Darshan Poojan Samaroh’ event in Kanota near Jaipur, Kumar had said, “The party which did bhakti of Lord Ram and became arrogant was stopped at 241, however, it became the biggest party.”

“And those who had no faith in Ram were stopped at 234,” he said, in an apparent reference to the INDIA bloc.

He further said, “See the ‘Vidhan’ of Ram Rajya in democracy; those who did ‘Bhakti’ of Ram, but gradually turned arrogant, emerged as the biggest party, however, the vote and the power that they should have been given was stopped by God due to arrogance.”

“Further, none amongst those who opposed Ram were given power. All of them together were made number two,” he said.

This follows RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s statement a few days ago. Bhagwat said that a true ‘sevak’ should serve people without arrogance and maintain dignity.

“Those who pray to Ram should be humble… Lord Ram does not discriminate and does not punish. Ram delivers justice to everyone. He gives and continues giving to all. Lord Ram was always just and will remain so,” he said.
