Among his many projects, Heeramandi, which eventually became a much-anticipated Netflix series in 2024, had been in the works for years. A rare glimpse into Mahira Khan’s look test for the original iteration of the project, planned for the late 2000s, has resurfaced, offering fans a window into Bhansali’s earlier vision.

Having said that, it is worth mentioning here that this comes weeks after Mahira Khan recalled being offered Heeramandi in the first meeting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, during an interview with BBC Asian Network.
