Actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi and her ex-husband, filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, had made headlines, as the actress spilled some beans about their past relation. The couple was married for 12 years before being divorced in 2007. In an old interview, Suchitra talked about a troubled marriage and accusation of infidelity by Kapur. She also did not forget to mention actress Preity Zinta while talking about their separation.

Speaking with Siddharth Kannan, Suchitra said that it’s the reason behind her marriage breaking due to Preity Zinta. The enmity between the two actresses dates back to the early 2000s; seems like the heat among them remains aflame even in modern times. Talking to the media, Suchitra was very candid about her feelings and termed it saying that she will hold Preity responsible for the catastrophe in her marriage.
Earlier, Preity Zinta had reacted to all these charges in an interview. She also denied all the allegations. She is said to have told Suchitra, “I am the number one actress, and you don’t even work, you are a homemaker. Suchitra, don’t talk to me like that. You need to see a psychiatrist because your mind is not in the right place.

Reflecting on Preity’s remarks, Suchitra countered with the words, “It’s a free world, and she can say whatever she likes. I am very proud to be a homemaker.” She let it be known that she has no designs to forgive or forget and that “all these things do not exist for me”.

The lesser-known is that Suchitra was married to Shekhar Kapur back in 1999 when she was just 22 years old. Well, the marriage didn’t last, but the breakup hasn’t prevented the now-defunct couple from raising their daughter, Kaveri Kapur. On the other hand, Preity Zinta is married to Gene Goodenough, a financial analyst, and the couple resides in Los Angeles with their twins Gia and Jai.
Suchitra’s remarks again reignited the much talked-about feud between them and proved that wounds run deep, and they most often resurface.
