The veteran actor takes on the role of Qadir Khan, a menacing underworld kingpin ruling Mumbai’s underworld. The show, streaming on Amazon MX Player, has garnered positive reviews for its gripping narrative, and Tiger couldn’t help but give a shout-out to his “Killer Daddy” for his captivating portrayal of the dark character.

Tiger Shroff shared a clip on his Instagram Stories, showcasing various moments of his father, Jackie Shroff, in his intense role as Qadir Khan in Chidiya Udd. Impressed by Jackie’s commanding screen presence and powerful dialogue delivery, Tiger captioned the post with “Killer Daddy” alongside fire and heart emojis, expressing his admiration for the veteran actor’s portrayal of the ruthless underworld kingpin.
Directed by Ravi Jadhav, Chidiya Udd delves into the dark underworld of Bombay in the 90s, where prostitution and the exploitation of women are rampant. Set in this dangerous backdrop, the show focuses on the struggles of women trying to survive in such a brutal environment. At the heart of the story lies Qadir Khan (played by Jackie Shroff), a ruthless kingpin torn between his commitment to his criminal empire and his love for his son, Akram (Sikandar Kher), whom he hopes will take over as his successor.
In addition to Qadir Khan’s complex family dynamics, the series also centres on Seher (Bhoomika Meena), a young woman from Rajasthan who is tragically forced into prostitution.
In a recent interview, Jackie Shroff discussed his portrayal of Qadir Khan in Chidiya Udd, describing the character as someone he could connect with due to his unique persona and internal struggles. “Qadir Khan is very different and that is why I was able to connect with him. As I said he has been very bindaas but has his own struggles,” he said.
He also spoke candidly about a particularly challenging scene, where he had to watch a girl strip in front of him. Reflecting on the emotional difficulty of the moment, he said, “It’s like you are acting and you are acting like a man who is going to buy something. But in my heart, it was like my good lord. As an actress, it takes a lot to do that and for me to look at it. She was wonderful and did it effortlessly. She must have felt uncomfortable and difficult but she made it look so fantastic.”
Chidiya Udd is based on Aabid Surti’s critically acclaimed novel Cages and features a talented ensemble cast. Alongside Jackie Shroff, the series stars Sikander Kher, Mayur More, and Mita Vashisht, who bring their characters to life in this intense crime drama. With its gripping narrative and powerful performances, the show is already garnering praise for its portrayal of the underworld and the lives of women caught in its web.
