NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi on Wednesday, in an apparent reference to Pakistan, said those who used to bleed India by inflicting terror were suffering and their pitiable condition was there for all to see whereas India’s role in global growth was being acknowledged worldwide. Speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Conclave, he once again sounded supremely confident of winning LS polls and said the next five years would be crucial to continue the country’s growth journey even as he recalled how the past 10 years had witnessed overall growth on all parameters.
“Be it the leaders of terrorism or the countries seeking development and peace, everyone has experienced Rising Bharat. This new India does not bear the wounds of terrorism, but teaches a lesson with full force to those who inflicted the wounds of terrorism,” Modi said.

PM Modi backs ED, says agencies given free hand

Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized his unwavering commitment to combating corruption by empowering enforcement agencies like the ED. He highlighted a shift in approach from the pre-2014 era, where agencies faced restrictions. Modi reiterated his zero tolerance stance on corruption and pledged a heightened anti-graft campaign in his upcoming term.

PM cited the remarks of Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut likening him with Aurangzeb as he said, “The govt has approached the electorate based on its performance in the past 10 years. And it has also started working on a roadmap for 100 days in its third term. On the other hand, the opposition parties are setting a new record. Today, Modi was abused for the 104th time. Modi has been compared with Aurangzeb and there was also a threat to blow his skull.”

Modi said the entire world considered the 21st century to be that of India. “Big rating agencies and economists are assured of rising India. Why is it that they aren’t raising any questions? It’s because the entire world is witnessing how India has brought big changes in the last 10 years,” he added.

He said in the last 10 years, 25 crore people had come out of poverty, the country had moved from being the 10th largest economy to the fifth, India’s forex reserves crossed $700 billion and exports increased exponentially. “However, we need to do a lot more. Our govt is employing technology to catch the corrupt. Today, it’s becoming hard to hide money trails, and therefore, stashes of money are being found from beds and walls. Bundles of notes were unearthed from a Congress MP and a TMC leader’s home, and hence they are rattled,” PM said. He noted that there was a time when people used to ask why no action was taken against the high and mighty and today, the rattled lot were asking why action was being taken against them.
