Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum criticized Tuesday the United States’ decision to suspend the entry of Mexican cattle following the detection of a screwworm case, calling the move “completely exaggerated.” “Yesterday, upon learning that there was a case, one case in Veracruz, from our point of view (the US) made a completely exaggerated decision, to close the border again.” said Sheinbaum during her daily media briefing. The suspension was announced just three days after the border had reopened, ending a three-month closure. Watch.
