Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board member and BJP State spokesperson G. Bhanuprakash Reddy has filed a police complaint against the erstwhile chairman of the TTD Trust Board Bhumana Karunakar Reddy for making baseless allegations against the TTD-run Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshanasala (dairy farm) and thus defaming the world-famous institution.

Leading a party delegation, he submitted the complaint copy to Superintendent of Police V. Harshavardhan Raju at his chambers here on Tuesday (April 15). In the complaint, he accused Mr. Karunakar Reddy of making ‘false, fraudulent and politically motivated’ statements against the dairy farm at a media conference. He also accused him of misleading the media and making false propaganda against the very institution he had headed in the past.

“The photos shown in the publication are not related to the TTD’s Goshala and they have been fabricated only to tarnish the image of the TTD,” he said, lamenting at Mr. Karunakar Reddy comparing the TTD’s dairy farm to a slaughterhouse.

Mr. Bhanuprakash Reddy pointed out that the dairy farm supplied milk, curd and ghee for use in the temple rituals at Tirumala, and hence defaming such an institution had hurt the sentiments of Hindu devotees.

Since the electronic and social media were also used to spread the ‘baseless charges’, he termed it an offence under Section 74 of Information Technology Act, 2000 and Section 356 of Bharatiya Nyaya Samhitha (BNS), thus requesting the department to initiate appropriate action against him.
