TIRUPATI: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has made Aadhar validation a must for such devotees who do not have valid darshan tickets but wish to purchase the most sought after Tirupati Laddus prasadams in a bid to bring in transparency and route out the middlemen menace in the hill town.
TTD additional EO CH Venkaiah Chowdary stated that this new measure being enforced from Thursday itself, aims to address the middlemen menace in the hill town.
Dismissing misleading reports in some section of the media over the TTD’s decision, Venkaiah Chowdary stated that the decision was taken to protect the visiting devotees from falling prey to the middlemen.
“While the laddu distribution system for devotees with valid darshan tickets remains the same, devotees who do not have darshan tickets can reach out to any of the counters from 48-62, register their Aadhar, get it validated and purchase two laddus”, additional EO clarified.
