NOIDA: Two criminals sustained injuries in a confrontation with police on Sunday in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
As per officials, Anuj and Nitin, identified as the two miscreants, sustained injuries during a confrontation around 5:00am at Noida Sector 49.
The accused individuals were wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man identified as Mehndi Hasan in Baraula village, Noida, on Saturday.
The victim suffered stab wounds and sustained severe injuries. He was admitted to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment, according to the police. They added that the motive behind the attack appeared to be an old enmity
On Sunday, the police attempted to pursue both the accused with the intention of apprehending them. The culprits tried to flee and fired at the police.
The police asserted that they fired in retaliation after the accused allegedly opened fire while attempting to escape.
“The pair suffered injuries in the shooting and has been transported to the district hospital for treatment,” stated the police.
They also added that further investigation into the case is currently in progress.
