In a devastating road accident occurred early Sunday (December 1, 2024) morning between Chellagurki village in Ballari district and Vidapanakal village in Andhra Pradesh, three people – two doctors and a laywer, were killed. Another doctor was critically injured in the mishap.
The deceased were identified as Dr. Govindarajulu, an oncologist, Dr. Yogish, an ophthalmologist, and Venkaiah Naidu, a lawyer. Another doctor and the owner of Gandarva Giri Estate Dr. Amaregouda Patil was severely injured.
The four people were returning from Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru to their native place, Ballari, after completing a tour of Bangkok.
Dr. Govindarajulu and Dr. Yogish were serving at the state-owned Ballari Medical College and Research Centre in Ballari.
The accident occurred when Mr. Naidu, who was driving Dr. Patil’s car, lost control and crashed into a roadside tree around 4 am. It is learnt that Dr. Patil’s relatives were alerted to the accident by his iPhone, which detected the crash and sent a message to them.
The injured Dr. Patil and the bodies of the deceased were shifted to Ballari Medical College and Research Centre in Ballari for further procedures.
