Two youths drowned in the Godavari at the famous temple town of Bhadrachalam in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Friday.
According to sources, the deceased were identified as Pavan, 22, of Regulachalaka village in Khammam district, and Hari Prasad, 20, a native of Dharur in Vikarabad district.
The duo met a watery grave while taking a dip in the river near the bathing ghats on Friday afternoon.
They came to the temple town along with their family members on a pilgrimage.
Their bodies were retrieved from the river by the local swimmers later in the day.
The tragic death of the duo left their family members heartbroken.
Bhadrachalam police have registered a case and are investigating.
