CHANDAULI: A constable posted in Chandauli district in Uttar Pradesh has been suspended for calling Mukhtar Ansari a ‘messiah’ on Facebook.
As the post went viral, SP Chandauli Anil Kumar suspended him. According to the officer, constable Aftab Alam, who was posted at reserve police lines in Chandauli, wrote a post on his Facebook account in favour of Ansari and called him a messiah.
ASP Chandauli, Vinay Kumar Singh said that the constable wrote an objectionable post on his Facebook page, which is clear violation of the UP Police Social Media Policy, 2023, and UP Government Servant Conduct Rules, 1956.
Earlier on Monday, a police constable posted at Bakshi-ka-Talab police station in Lucknow was sent to police lines after he posted a status on his WhatsApp account, supporting gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari.
Ansari died on March 28, following a heart attack.
