‘Shoot-At-Sight’ orders after violence over madrassa & mosque demolition in Uttarakhand’s Haldwani

The situation escalated when residents of the area allegedly pelted stones at an anti-encroachment team from the Haldwani municipal corporation as they arrived to demolish an ‘illegal’ madrassa and mosque in Malik ka Bagicha. Despite the unrest, demolition continued.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held an emergency meeting, and a curfew was enforced in Haldwani until further notice, with exceptions for medical emergencies and essential services.
