Vikram Kochhar, who is currently garnering praises for his performance in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki, recently recalled his experience of working with Bobby Deol in Aashram. He also shared how director Rajkumar Hirani didn’t embarrass his actors despite knowing that they got drunk for a scene.
During his recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Vikram revealed that Bobby loves drinking and he loved to party with the entire cast of Aashram on the sets. “When I was doing Ashram, Bobby sir said, ‘Kaisa Punjabi hai, daaru nahi pii sakta? (What kind of a Punjabi you are that you cannot drink)’ I told him, ‘It’s not by choice, but my body rejects alcohol. I am allergic to smoke also.’ Still, he offered me a ‘patiala peg’. After drinking it, I was vomiting in my room,” he recalled.
Vikram then went on to reveal while with Bobby he drank for fun, he drank with Vicky Kaushal to get the best out of their scene. He also revealed that Vicky drank a lot more than everyone else. He used to tell them, ‘Peete kyun nahi ho, piyo (Why aren’t you drinking? Drink).’
Both Vikram and Anil Grover were also worried about Rajkumar Hirani since the director understood that they were all drunk in real while performing the scene where they were shown drunk. Vicky boldly accepted that they have to drink a little bit for such scenes.
