Amid reports that Vivek Ramaswamy may bow out of the Department of Government Efficiency to contest for the Ohio Governor post, Ramaswamy Monday posted a photo with Elon Musk and captioned it as “A new dawn’. The photo comes as the Washington Post reported that a major surprise is awaiting Donald Trump and DOGE as there will be a lawsuit against DOGE accusing it of breaking a 1972 law.
Donald Trump Inauguration
The law requires advisory committees to follow certain rules of disclosure, hiring and other practices. But DOGE is not doing any of them and not a single member of DOGE is a federal employee, the lawsuit said.
Donald Trump’s first executive order on DOGE
One of the first executive orders Donald Trump plans to sign as president will be to give legality to DOGE, Semafor reported. DOGE is tasked to come up with proposals to reduce government bureaucracy, government cost and unnecessary regulations. DOGE is supposed to work with the Office of Management and Budget and all agencies to shrink the federal workforce, federal spending and federal regulatory burdens.
‘Ramaswamy is out of DOGE’
A Politico report Monday confirmed that Ramaswamy is already out of DOGE. “Ramaswamy’s exit clears the path for Musk, the top donor and confidant to Trump, to run the show at DOGE. The departure also follows Ramaswamy irking some Republicans in MAGA world,” the Politico report said hinting at Ramaswamy’s rant against American culture over the H-1B row. Ramaswamy is in favor of H-1B extension like Elon Musk and Donald Trump are but he criticized American culture for not being able to produce the best of tech talents. The report said Ramaswamy is expected to kick off his gubernatorial bid next week.
But Ramaswamy is keeping the plans under wraps as he put a united face of the DOGE sharing a photo with Elon Musk — hand in hand — on the morning of Donald Trump’s inauguration.
