Vivo has officially introduced its V40 series in India, ending months of speculation. The new lineup comprises the Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro, both equipped with a triple-camera system featuring ZEISS optics, and powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. Both models offer a 6.78-inch AMOLED display. Here’s what more these newly launched smartphones have packed in store for you.

Vivo V40: Specifications and Features

The Vivo V40 sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1260 x 2800 pixel resolution. It offers HDR10+ support, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The screen’s brightness peaks at 4500 nits, ensuring visibility in bright light. The front camera is housed in a punch-hole design, maximizing screen space.

Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen3 chipset, the Vivo V40 includes an octa-core processor clocked at 2.63 GHz, 8 GB of RAM, and an additional 8 GB of virtual RAM. It offers 256 GB of internal storage without expandable memory. The device runs on Android 14, with a slim profile at 7.6 mm thick and weighing 190 grams. It features an in-display fingerprint sensor for security.

The Vivo V40 is equipped with dual 50 MP rear cameras with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for stable photos and 4K video recording at 30 fps. A 50 MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. Connectivity options include 4G, 5G, VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.4, WiFi, NFC, USB-C v2.0, and an IR blaster. The 5500 mAh battery supports 80W FlashCharge for quick charging.

 Vivo V40 Pro: Specifications and Features

The Vivo V40 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1260 x 2800 pixel resolution and HDR10+ support. It also offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. The device measures 164.2 x 74.9 x 7.6 mm, weighs 192 grams, supports dual SIMs plus an eSIM, and is IP68-rated for dust and water resistance.

Running on Android 14 with Funtouch 14, the Vivo V40 Pro is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 9200+ chipset. It includes an octa-core CPU and an Immortalis-G715 MC11 GPU. The triple rear camera setup includes a 50 MP wide lens, a 50 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 50 MP ultra wide lens, all enhanced with ZEISS optics and a Ring-LED flash. The front camera is a 50 MP wide lens with dual-LED flash, supporting 4K video recording.

The Vivo V40 Pro supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC (market dependent), and USB Type-C 2.0 with OTG support. It includes an under-display fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, proximity sensor, and compass. The 5500 mAh battery supports 80W wired charging and reverse wired charging.

Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro: Price and Availability

The Vivo V40 Pro starts at 49,999 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The Vivo V40 is priced at 34,999 for the 128GB model and 36,999 for the 256GB model. The Vivo V40 will be available on August 19, while the V40 Pro will be available on August 13.
