‘We Offer World-Class Infrastructure’: Nara Lokesh Invites MNCs To Andhra In Jibe At Karnataka Govt

Nara Lokesh remarks came in response to criticism of the Karnataka government’s handling of flooding and waterlogging issues in the capital amid heavy rainfall this week.

Andhra Pradesh Minister and TDP leader Nara Lokesh on Thursday invited multinational corporations (MNCs) in Bengaluru to relocate to Andhra Pradesh. His remarks came in response to criticism of the Karnataka government’s handling of flooding and waterlogging issues in the capital city amid heavy rainfall this week.

In a post on X, Lokesh reacted to comments from former Infosys Chief Financial Officer Mohandas Pai, who had expressed frustration over the Congress-led government’s poor governance under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

“Namaskaram @TVMohandasPai Sir. With humble regards, I would like to extend an invitation to all MNCs to Andhra Pradesh, where Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri @ncbn Garu has introduced new, business-friendly policies. We view industries as vital stakeholders in our state’s welfare and growth. We are ready to offer world-class infrastructure and an exceptional business ecosystem, ensuring both ease and speed of doing business,” Lokesh wrote in his X post while responding to Pai.

Pai’s X post on Wednesday painted a grim picture of the situation in Karnataka, stating that lack of action on crucial infrastructure issues was causing frustration among businesses. He noted that many MNCs were seriously considering expanding outside of Bengaluru due to the government’s failure to address persistent problems with roads, drainage, and traffic.

“Lack of action by @CMofKarnatakan @siddaramaiah @DKShivakumar @PriyankKharge on roads, drainage, traffic on ORR is leading to huge anger and is forcing many MNC’s to seriously consider expanding outside City.promises made by CM, DCM repeatedly not upheld, trust down. This is very serious,” Pai had remarked.

He further added: “CM/DCM should take urgent action to save city and jobs. Never seen this kind of anger and pain in last 20 years. Very sad at the misgovernance of city, false promises, lack of action. Sad day for all of us to have such a non performing, callous, indifferent govt which treats its own citizens so badly.”

The criticism of Siddaramaiah’s government has intensified as Bengaluru faced severe flooding and waterlogging issues earlier this week. Opposition parties, such as the JD(S) and BJP have launched pointed attacks, accusing the government of neglecting the city’s crumbling infrastructure and failing to uphold promises made to citizens.
